ABOUT ME
Hey there, my name is Dan! I’m a sound designer, composer, and game audio professional based in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I cherish world-building and thematic storytelling in video games which encourages me to create audio with the aim of sharing immersive experiences with players that leaves a lasting impact.
I've crafted sounds for projects like Minecraft Legends, Disney Mirrorverse, and Glassbreakers: Champions of Moss. My work emphasizes balancing articulation, rhythm, and tone, blending organic and synthesized elements to create soundscapes that enhance both narrative and gameplay contexts.
I hold a Diploma in Sound Design for Visual Media from Vancouver Film School and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Composition from Simon Fraser University. Outside of my work, I volunteer with the Asian Game Audio Network (AGAN), where I dedicate myself to supporting Asian game audio professionals and providing mentorship opportunities to newcomers.
Beyond game audio, I write and arrange orchestral music which has been performed by Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as well as the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra led by Maestro Ken Hsieh. I have also led the SFU Concert Orchestra as Co-President and Composer-in-Residence to embolden the orchestra’s ideals of encouraging growth in eager musicians and providing a vibrant musical presence in the community.
In my spare time, you can catch me enjoying the cafes/restaurants with the city sights, learning how to play more instruments, and practicing my hammer skills on Monster Hunter World.
